Biography
Dr. Vu Duc Canh received his PhD degree from the Department of Urban Engineering at the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 2020. Then, he awarded the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) fellowship for young scientists and worked in the Environmental Public Health Engineering Laboratory at the University of Tokyo, between 2020 and 2024. Since 2024, he has been a researcher at the International Wastewater Epidemiology Laboratory, the University of Tokyo. His research interests include a wide variety of topics in the field of health-related water microbiology, such as the development of concentration/detection methods for pathogenic viruses, waterborne pathogens during water/wastewater treatment processes, virus disinfection methods, and wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE). He has more than 20 publications, including research articles and book chapters. These research articles were published in high-ranking scientific journals such as Water Research (IF=12.8) and Science of the Total Environment (IF=9.8) and Npj clean water (IF=11.4).
