Biography

Shotaro Torii is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban Engineering, School of Engineering, at the University of Tokyo from March 2023. He earned his Ph.D. in urban engineering from the University of Tokyo in March 2021. After obtaining his Ph.D., he joined the Laboratory of Environmental Virology at the School of Architecture, Civil, and Environmental Engineering at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. He served there as a JSPS Overseas Research Fellow (postdoctoral fellow) until March 2023. His primary research interest lies in environmental virology and disinfection.
