ABSTRACT
This study seeks to examine the therapeutic effects of classical music on academic stress in high school students in Vietnam. A randomized controlled trial was conducted with 100 students from Delta Global School, excluding those with professional music training or hearing deficits. Participants were divided into 3 treatment groups, exposed to 3 different styles of classical music, and a control group, with no musical intervention. Stress levels were measured before and after the intervention using standardized academic stress scales. The findings revealed that three different classical music styles – Baroque, Romantic, and Impressionist – significantly reduced stress levels among participants. These results highlight classical music's potential as a non-invasive and cost-effective approach to managing academic stress in high school settings.
